Pimpri-Chinchwad
To the north lie Chinchwad, Akurdi, Ravet and Thergaon. Pimpri-Chinchwad has long been an industrial and automotive centre, and the region contributes to Pune's manufacturing base, which employed over 5 lakh people in the mid-2010s. Wakad is connected to this belt by the Bhosari-Wakad BRT road and the highway.
