Metro Line 3 is the single most talked-about infrastructure project for west Pune. Here is the route, the station list and where things stand.
Route and length
Line 3, also called the Pink Line, is a fully elevated corridor of about 23 km with 23 stations, running from Maan and Hinjawadi through Wakad Chowk, Balewadi, Baner, Aundh and Savitribai Phule Pune University to Shivajinagar and District Court. It is being built under a public-private partnership with Tata Group and Siemens, and interchanges with the Purple and Aqua lines at Shivajinagar and District Court.

Where it stands
The first phase between Maan and Balewadi, about 13 km, received safety approval in July 2026. As of mid-September 2026 it had not opened to the public, and the launch was waiting for an inauguration date to be finalised. Work on extending operations towards Shivajinagar is continuing. What it means for Wakad

Interchanges
At Shivaji Nagar the line connects with the Purple Line, and at District Court it connects with both the Purple and Aqua lines. This links west Pune with the wider Pune Metro network once the full line is running.
